About MPS MPS (The International Conference on Many Particle Spectroscopy of Atoms, Molecules, Clusters and Surfaces) is a biennial meeting of scientists to discuss the physics and chemistry related to the interaction of light and charged particles (ions and electrons) with various forms of matter, ranging from atoms to nanoparticles and surfaces. In particular the latest experiments, techniques and theoretical results involving multiple particles, their interaction (correlation, scattering, dynamics, multiphoton absorption etc.) and detection (such as coincident experiments) are presented.
The history of MPS and its predecessors goes back to the year 1986. The latest MPS Conference was held in Budapest, Hungary in 2018, preceded by the meeting in Moscow, Russia in 2016 and in Metz, France in 2014.
In 2020, it was the turn of Turku, Finland, to host the MPS conference. However, for the reasons known to all, it was not to be and the conference was cancelled. It was decided that the next conference, MPS-2022, will still take place in Turku.
